14 new songs penned by Texas singer-songwriter Zach Tate, co-produced by Grammy-nominated engineer and producer, Andy Bradley, make the Zach Tate Band’s 5th CD “Serious Man” another eclectic musical journey through rock, country, blues and folk (with some jazz and reggae elements thrown in) that has fans getting more of they want from the Houston-based group. With an almost entirely new band line-up “Serious Man” continues in the tradition of bar-room rock & roll that has kept ZTB booked in Texas Ice Houses and at the Lone Star Motorcycle Rally for the last few years. Additional instrumentation (by several guest artists) further the sonic variation and include saxophone, banjo, mandolin, and pedal steel. Two duets with folk singer, Rebecca Stoll take “Serious Man” deeper into territory carried over from ZTB’s previous album, “End Of Time”. Lyrical landscapes covering sex, religion, love and relationships set to soulful rhythms make “Serious Man” some seriously good rock & roll!
